In our upcoming episode, we’ll speak with Angie Lozano, president and founder of Angie’s Angels. Angie's Angels is a San Antonio-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting children diagnosed with cancer, disabilities, or other serious health conditions, along with their families.
Originally from Corpus Christi and a graduate of Del Mar College, Angie Lozano was inspired to start Angie’s Angels after recognizing a gap in existing support systems (Lozano). While many local nonprofits focus on one specific ailment, Angie envisioned an inclusive organization that uplifts families facing any kind of medical or developmental hardship (SA Living).
One of the organization's signature fundraisers is the Models of Courage Fashion Show, where supported children and youth take to the runway dressed in local designs. Through this event, models celebrate their stories and triumphs, build confidence, and embrace joy (SA Living).
Angie’s Angels also hosts a variety of community events, including casino nights, live music performances, and a Christmas party at the BAMC Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Clinic.
